Terms of use
Last updated 13 October 2026. These terms cover the Postcode Plus website and its iPhone and Android apps. By using Postcode Plus you agree to them, and by creating a code you also agree to the rules for codes.
Who we are
Postcode Plus is run by Tom Brewis and Henry Brewis in the United Kingdom. Contact: hello@postcodeplus.co.uk.
The service
Postcode Plus is free. We provide it as it is and may change, pause or stop it. We'll give notice before stopping it where we can.
Your codes
- You're responsible for what you put on a code: the pin, the words, your name and the photos. Codes are public.
- You keep the rights to your words and photos. You give us permission to store them and show them to anyone who has the code or link, for as long as the code exists.
- Only make codes for places you have a right to share, and follow the rules. We may remove a code that breaks them, without notice if it's harmful.
- Keep your edit link safe: anyone who has it can change or delete the code.
Using a code
Codes are made by other people. We don't check them, so a pin, a photo or directions may be wrong or out of date. Use your own judgement, take care when you get there, and don't rely on Postcode Plus in an emergency: call the emergency services.
Maps and satellite pictures
- The street map is © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence.
- The satellite pictures are provided by Esri and its licensors and are used under Esri's terms. You may view them in Postcode Plus only. You must not copy, download, scrape, store, resell or redistribute them, remove their credits, or use them in any way that breaks the law or anyone's rights.
- Postcodes come from postcodes.io, and countries and towns from OpenStreetMap's Nominatim.
Fair use
Don't misuse Postcode Plus: no automated or bulk use, no attempts to break or overload it, and nothing illegal. We may block access that does.
Our responsibility
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss from using Postcode Plus or relying on a code. Nothing in these terms limits anything the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or your rights as a consumer.
Privacy, changes and the law
How we handle information is in the privacy policy. If we change these terms we'll update this page and the date at the top. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
